The triple-chromed steel base secures your iPad through a set of neodymium magnets, ensuring it's always properly aligned for inductive charging. But the LaunchPort system only works when your iPad is trapped inside a clunky looking case available in four hideous finishes—walnut burl, carbon fiber, sparkling pink, and even a leopard print option. When it's available it will cost a ridiculous $1,250, so who would opt for this when they could just buy a second backup iPad they can leave charging instead?
