Prism Glasses Let You Read While Lying Down at the Cost of Looking Like an Idiot [Eyeglasses]

Image
Aug 11, 2012 9:00 AM   The hardest part of reading (besides the big, scary words) is finding a remotely comfortable way to sit, or lie, while doing it. These crazy prism glasses will add "lying on your back" to the list of options, but you'll look stupid. It's a simple concept. The prism glasses redirect your line of sight nintey degrees downward, parallel to your supine form. That way you can, in theory, prop your book or magazine on your chest or stomach, and still read it without doing crunches to tilt your head. Seems equally useful and disorienting. Probably not the best setup for reading Pynchon or something. If you want to try this elegant yet weird solution a try, you can pick up a pair of these guys for about $25. Or you can, you know, sit in a chair like a normal person and just deal with it. Your call really. 14 Things That Happened While You Were Blinking [Shooting Challenge]

Image
Aug 8, 2012 4:00 PM   WINNER: Uh Oh Canon EOS 1000D, 50mm, f1.8, 1/10, ISO 400. Set the camera on a tripod with a locking shutter release, locked it just did a little shadowboxing at the camera. Took about 200 shots to get the focus and blur just right. Post-process using Nik filters to get that Street Fighter IV-ish look. I figured this week's challenge fit perfectly for another hobby of mine; boxing. Blinking is a dangerous thing to do when you're in punching range of your opponent. You just might miss that jutting of the shoulder preceding a right cross and open your eyes to a very blurry close-up view of faux leather hitting you in the nose. - Bart Tieman View the original article here This post was made using the Auto Blogging Software from WebMagnates.org This line will not appear when posts are made after activating the software to full version.

Will These Water Bottle Gloves Really Make It Easier To Drink While Running? [Running]

Image
Jul 26, 2012 2:40 PM   It's often tricky, as a runner, to rehydrate without lowering your heart rate. But will Salomon's new Sense Hydro S-Lab gloves—which strap a water bottle to each hand for easy access—make it easier or downright impossible? The set won't be available until September, but it looks like they use a pair of soft plastic bottles so they can be folded up and reduced in size as they're drained. Which is a lot easier than trying to run with a pair of empty rigid plastic bottles strapped to your hands. The design also lets you squeeze every last drop of moisture out of the bottles using just a single hand. In fact, the only obvious disadvantage is that the heat from your palms is bound to leave you sipping luke warm water, which might not be that refreshing after all.
