Aug 11, 2012 4:00 PM   I had a dumbphone for a long time, so when I finally got a smartphone, one of the big things I was excited about was using it as an mp3 player. "One less thing to cram in my pockets!" thought I, and I just assumed everyone else felt the same way. Any trimming I had to do to get my collection from one device or another was a joyful chore. Then, I started to notice something odd on the train. I noticed lots of people, perhaps even the majority, would be fiddling with their smartphones but have their headphones connected to an iPod Touch. Even people with iPhones, sometimes. This German company's taking those vintage audio electronics and turning them into gorgeous speakers for your smartphone. These individually hacked-together speakers from Tombox are all about aesthetics. The company takes old speaker boxes and guts, and adds a simple volume dial to the side as well as a 1/8th-inch cable that plugs right into the headphone jack of your favorite gadget. Each unit is individually numbered and carries its own unique specs depending on features of the original enclosure. Do you want a wood, metal, or plastic? One speaker or two? Hulu Reveals Sleeker, More Advanced Player [VIDEO]

Hulu has revamped its video player, ditching its older look for a more user-friendly interface. The clean new look integrates features like 10-second rewind, allowing users to easily cut back to moments earlier in video, and a more compact player that organizes buttons such as pop-out and closed captions within one menu. The player will even automatically choose the best quality video for the available bandwidth with which you’re streaming the content.
