Too Bad These Stylish iPhone Cables Are About To Be Obsolete [Accessories]

Image
Aug 10, 2012 3:20 PM   Standard iPhone charging cables are pretty boring, and they're practically begging to get covered in a layer of gray grime. These snazzy cables are much more fun, it's just too bad they're going to be outdated so soon. Available from Eastern Collective, these robust little guys come in four different color schemes, all of which beat that hell out of what came with your iPhone. On top of that, at $14, they aren't a bad deal, especially considering they're no doubt tougher than your average charging cable and way less likely to get tangled. Just don't pick one up if you have any interest in new iDevices. After all, this is the worst possible time to pick up new iPhone accessories since Apple is almost certainly moving away from the 30-pin port. Bummer, right? Not your average cable. Slip them in a bag or pocket, and use them like any other USB cable. They don't tangle. Ever. They're too rigid. The same thing that makes these cables so great and non-tangly makes them maddening to use. The MicroUSB cable wouldn't fit the connector on the Sony RX100. The cable works with other devices, and the RX100 works with other MicroUSB cables. Bizarre. Used in various configurations with a MacBook Pro, iPhone, Mophie, mini Belkin power strip, and a Sony RX100 camera.Without a flat surface and 6-10 inches of room directly in front of whatever port you're ...
