Our Twitter account was hacked a few hours ago. We have the situation under control, don't worry. But Gizmodo really hates to delete tweets. Really. It's an actual policy: do not do it. Not for typos, not for nothin'.
In this case, though, the tweets were grossly offensive and hugely misrepresentative. We deleted.
I'll admit: On my personal account, I've deleted a tweet or two, or a few, in my day. Only ever for a stupid typo or a broken link, though. But I have a friend who curates his Twitter account like a zen garden. Prunes in like a rose shrub. It's lean, it's highly selective. He deletes more than he tweets. I guess he just uses the platform differently.
What about you?
